Liiek: new EP

 

If you are into post-punk you may have heard of this new berlin based band called Liiek... if not you should immediately check the enthusiastic words I wrote about their first LP a couple of months ago!

Well for my greatest pleasure, the german trio is back with a new EP only a few months after the release of their fantastic full length (god bless the lockdown which made these guys so productive!).

 

 With these 3 new songs 7" out on the new Berlin label Mangel Records, the band delivers again some fantastic post-punk which sounds like Crisis without Prozac or Wire meets Gang of Four for about ten pints.

Yes I know it sounds lame to keep saying how great it is but it IS great!

From the very late 70s energetic punk anthem One Two to the more melancholic post-punk ballad of Fitted and Lost, this EP is perfect... Managing the oh so difficult task to make something new with all the perfectly mastered recipes of the best from the past, because yes we have all heard this sound before but it does not appear like a total copycat, it just pops up like a highly enjoyable result!
